Hawk Relay Riding for Deaf Schools aims to raise $100,000 and public awareneness for the Education for deaf children.

Fremont, CA - Hawk Relay Riding for Deaf Schools director Robin Horwitz today announces two fundraiser rides in Fremont and Riverside to raise funds and awareness for the Education for deaf children in this country.

The fundraiser for Deaf Schools is a series of single day rides planned in Northern and Southern California in Fall of 2008. The Northern California will be ride through the Fremont - Pleasanton and Livermore. This will occur on October 11.

The one in Southern California will begin in Riverside and finish at Newport Beach on September 20. There will be shorter ride options available for the riders at both locations.

Robin stated, “Our goal is to raise $100,000 in our first year. We’ve set the goal high to raise awareness for the deaf education and money that goes into those type of programs. Giving those deaf children a chance at different opportunities presented to the general community is very important to this vision.”

Hawk Relay, a major video relay service provider, will provide the necessary support for the two fundraising rides. Momentum Cycling Team, a professional cycling team based in Los Angeles, will be riding with the cyclists. The members of the Momentum Cycling Team are three 2008 Olympians, Jennie Reed, Josiah Ng and Adam Duvendeck. Travis Smith of Canada is also a member of the team.
